You can become an expert at anything by spending a considerable amount of time doing it, or practicing it. Great athletes are the ones who spent the most time on the tracks preparing for races. I am reminded of the quote “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” I the past, I have made a commitment to myself to write regularly but somehow, I have not always kept to that commitment. It changes today, for me and for you. I had never deconstructed the process of writing.
Writing is easy when 1) it is important to you and 2) you do it one sentence at a time. The main reason why I have not kept to my commitment in the past is because I had never thought about writing one sentence at a time. This is a sentence. And another one. And another one. It is very easy to write. It is very easy to become a great writer. Just by writing a little bit every day, one sentence at a time, it is possible that you become a great writer. Become a writer today. Start a blog (if you don’t have one already) and write 100 words every day for 10 days. If you already have a blog but have not been writing as consistently as you would like, it changes today. Publish the link to your (new?) blog in the comment box below.
