I was having a conversation yesterday with a fellow dreamer and we were sharing ideas when the subject of reaching for dreams fulfillment came up. Of course since she is an avid reader in the non-fiction books category, we did some name dropping, Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Mel Robbins, Neale Donald Walsch, Lisa Nichols, etc… That was fun!
It’s been said before by quite a few contemporary authors I have read. Most of the self-help and personal development principles people share today have all been expressed in the timeless gem “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, and “As a Man Thinketh” by James Allen. The main underlying theme in those two great books is “Thinking.” More specifically, “Becoming Through Thinking.”
From my short life experience, it is my knowing that believing in something is what makes it materialize, not merely thinking about. Thinking sets the process in motion, but believing gathers the infinite universal resources for the expectation to become reality. Thinking starts the engine, believing presses on the gas for the train to keep moving. Example, when we observe a business that is performing well and we think to ourselves “I wonder what owning such a well performing business would be like, it sure would be an experience I would enjoy.” That is thinking, and it sets the process in motion for you to one day have a business that is performing just as well as the one you observed, if not better.
Of course we can’t talk about sunshine without acknowledging darkness. Darkness is ultimately doubt in all its form, and in the car analogy, it is the equivalent of stepping on the break. Thinking starts the engine, believing steps on the accelerator, and doubting (along with all its less positive cousins) releases the accelerator, to step on the break. When we doubt ourselves and our ability to succeed, we put a temporary hold on all the good that is coming our way from the unseen forces of the universes.
A belief is a thought we keep thinking about. Believing is equivalent to thinking with focus and clarity about what we want, and allowing the universe to deliver it to us. There is the master key to everything we want in life.
Keep believing, it is the master key.
